to Be Only Credit Card Accepted at Dollar Tree Stores
Discover Card announced Tuesday that Dollar Tree will make it
the exclusive credit card accepted at most Dollar Tree stores.
Discover’s exclusivity will cover over 2,100 of the more than
3,100 Dollar Tree stores. Dollar Tree Stores is the nation’s
largest dollar store chain.
The
agreement involves all cards issued on the Discover Network,
meaning cards issued directly from Discover Bank and those issued
by other banks but with the Discover brand and Discover Network
processing.
Credit
card exclusivity is relatively rare in the retail industry,
although not unhreard of. Perhaps the most well-known agreement
is the one that makes American Express the only credit card
accepted at Costco stores.
