Citibank
Business Credit Cards Offering Free Discount Prescription Drug
Benefit
Citibank's CitiBusiness credit cards have introduced a new perk
for small business owners--a free prescription drug benefit.
Through a partnership with New Benefits, Ltd., Citi is offering
a prescription drug card to CitiBusiness cardholders that can
result in discounts of 10 to 60 percent off on prescription
drugs. The benefit is not insurance--cardholders still pay for
their prescriptions at the time of pickup, but the discount
card provides an automatic savings on the purchase price. At
a new Web site, http://www.prescriptiondiscountbenefit.com/,
CitiBusiness cardholders can find which pharmacies accept the
card and can check the price they will pay for their particular
prescriptions.
In
addition to the free benefit for CitiBusiness cardholders, cardholders
can also add employees that don't carry the CitiBusiness card
for 10 dollars per year. A Vision and Dental Discount Program,
which can save cardholders anywhere from 10 to 60 percent on
those services, is also available for $8.95 a month.
According
to a CitiBusiness survey, 65 percent of small businesses do't
offer health care benefits, and of the 36 percent that do, only
18 percent offer medical and/or dental insurance with a prescription
plan.
