Card Chooses New Ad Agency
Discover Card has chosen The Martin Agency of Richmond, Virginia,
as its new ad agency of record, replacing Goodby, Silverstein
& Partners of San Francisco, which had resigned the Discover
account last fall (reportedly in order to vie for Visa's business,
which it didn't get).
The
Martin Agency will "handle strategic planning and creative
development for Discover Card and related products including
an integrated, multi-media campaign highlighting unique Cardmember
benefits," according to a Discover Financial Services press
release.
Discover
Card boasts of having over 50 million cardholders and its ad
business could be worth about $80 million in annual billings,
according to reports citing TNS Media Intelligence as a source.
