San Francisco’s BART Seeks Credit Card Partner
San Francisco’s Bay Area Regional Transit District, known as BART, is seeking a credit card issuing partner to offer a BART rewards credit card. The BART card would reward its frequent passengers in much the same way current airline mileage credit cards do. BART has an average of 320,000 daily San Francisco Bay Area riders and carries almost two million unique passengers annually.
In seeking to attract would-be partners, BART is emphasizing that in 2004 BART had 12.5% more passenger trips than the busiest domestic airline, Southwest, and 18% more passenger trips than Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport, which is the nation’s busiest airport.
