Mileage Plus Visa Card First Airline Credit Card to Use Contactless

“Blink” Technology

United

Airlines is promoting its innovation in being the first airline

to use Chase’s new contactless “blink” technology

in its airline rewards credit card.

The

Chase

United Mileage Plus Visa Card

with “blink” were first issued this summer to over

200,000 cardmembers in Colorado. To use the card, cardmembers

simply hold their card near a special point-of-sale terminal

at checkout, instead of swiping their card or handing it to

a store employee.

Using

the requisite puns to full advantage, Joe Venuti, senior vice

president for Chase’s Card Services division, said “We’re

confident the idea will take flight with our cardmembers, who

will enjoy gliding through check out lines while accruing mileage

earning benefits.”
