Sears Settles Credit Card Suit
Sears Holding Corp has agreed to give $10 or $15 coupons to as many as 2.3 million customers as part of a lawsuit settlement. Suing cardholders claimed Sears had violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by obtaining credit data after accounts were already closed and sold for collection. As part of the settlement, Sears did not admit wrongdoing.
