Your Options if Credit Card Debt Getting You Down
Yesterday’s MarketWatch
article by Gail Liberman and Alan Lavine runs down some
options if you are in credit card debt and need a lifeline.
While going to your credit card company and asking for a lower
interest rate or a “debt workout” might help, watch
out for the possibility of a ding on your credit report as a
result.
New
bankruptcy rules have made Chapter 7 bankruptcy harder — Liberman
and Lavine suggest going to this
site for a “means test” to determine if your financial
situation would qualify you for this type of debt protection.
