Airlines Launches Frequent Flyer Program, Rewards Credit Card
Low-fare carrier Spirit Airlines introduced a new frequent flyer
program called Free Spirit yesterday, along with an associated
rewards credit card, the Free Spirit MasterCard.
The
Free Spirit MasterCard, issued by Barclays Group’s Juniper Bank,
offers one mile for every dollar in purchases. New cardholders
also receive 5,000 bonus miles upon card acceptance.
Spirit
Airlines is touting what it calls a unique feature among frequent
flyer credit cards — all points earned, whether via credit
card purchases or actual ticket purchases, count toward elite
status levels as well as leading to free tickets.
The
Free Spirit MasterCard is available online here.
