HSBC Rolls Out Debit Cards with Contactless Technology
HSBC
Bank USA has begun issuing and reissung debit cards that feature
compatibility with MasterCard? PayPass technology.
PayPass
allows card users to pay quickly and possibly more securely
by tapping their cards on merchant terminals without the card
ever leaving their hands. Some merchants allow PayPass users
to complete transactions under $25 without an accompanying customer
signature.
HSBC
expects to issue about one million cards through the end of
2005 and says it will be the first bank to completely reissue
its debit cards to include PayPass.
