Airlines Begins Credit Card Acceptance for In-Flight Purchases
American Airlines announced that it will now accept credit cards
and debit cards as forms of payment for in-flight meals, drinks,
headsets and other purchases. Flight attendants will use wireless
hand-held devices to process card charges. American announced
that the new service was in partnership with American Express
Establishment Services, but almost all major credit cards will
be accepted.
According
to American, the program tested successfully last year, with
passengers welcoming credit and debit payment options in order
to conserve cash while still having the ability to purchase
items while on board.
