H&R Block Drives Business By Cutting Credit Card Tax Payment Fees
Last week we explained why paying your taxes via credit card is a bad idea, namely because of the 2.49% processing fee you’ll incur on top of any tax payments you owe. Tax preparer H&R Block has figured out a way to use this fee to its advantage, by eliminating or reducing the fee when taxpayers use its services. When taxpayers who have a tax balance due visit an H&R Block office, the credit card payment fee is eliminated if they pay with a Visa check card, or reduced to 1.99% if they use a Visa credit card. Similar offers are available to those who use H&R Block’s TaxCut Online program to pay their taxes online.
