In the late 1990s, American Express made the leap from offering just charge cards (whose balance had to be paid back at the end of each month) to credit cards that allowed customers to revolve debt. The first of those credit cards was Blue from American Express. When the original Blue credit card proved to be popular, American Express expanded its line of Blue cards. American Express Blue Credit Cards - Consumer
Blue Cash® from American Express - Earn up to 5% cash back on gas, groceries and drug store purchases, and up to 1.25% back on all other purchases. (Here's the exact formula: earn 1% cash back on gas, groceries and drug store purchases and 0.5% on other purchases for the first $6500 spent with the card, then 5% back on gas, groceries and drug store purchases and 1.25% back on other purchases.)
Also offers a 0% interest rate on purchases for 6 or 12 months and a rate after that 17.24-21.24%, depending on your credit history.
Blue Sky® from American Express- Earn 1 point per dollar spent with this card, then use those points toward direct savings on travel purchases, up to the full cost --- Every 7,500 points equals $100 off your travel purchases, up to the full amount of the travel cost.
Also offers a 0% interest rate on purchases for 6 or 12 months, then a rate after that 17.24-21.24%, depending on your credit history.
American Express Blue Credit Cards - Business
Blue for Business from American Express - Offers a 0% interest rate on purchases for 6, 9 or 15 months when the physical card is used (versus Internet or phone orders), and offers an APR as low as 9.24% otherwise. Also offers the Membership Rewards Express program, which awards one point per dollar and allows points to be redeemed for travel, merchandise, gift cards, more.
