Southwest Airlines Credit Cards
Southwest Airlines offers credit cards for both consumers and small business owners:
(If you are interested in other airline credit cards as well, see Travel Credit Cards.)
Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Visa Signature Card - Earn Reward Dollars toward Rapid Rewards credits. Here's the formula: For each dollar you spend with the card, you get 1 Reward Dollar, or 2 Reward Dollars when you use the card to buy Southwest tickets or hotel / car rental via Southwest partners. Each time you earn 1,200 Reward Dollars, you've earned one Rapid Rewards credit. When you've accumulated 16 credits within a 24-month period, you get a free flight. If that math is difficult to keep track of, you have to earn the equivalent of 19,200 Reward Dollars to earn one free flight.
For new cardholders, you can earn bonus credits upfront just for using the card for the first time, which quickly gets you closer to a free flight.
Annual fee: $59
Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Business Credit Card - As far as we can tell, there is no difference between the consumer Southwest credit card profiled above and the Southwest business credit card, other than the name. Same offer, same interest rate, same annual fee. If you are a business owner, the only real reason to get this one versus the other is to keep your business expenses separate from your personal expenses.
